1. Internet Connection

Check whether your ATT account is connected to the internet properly. You can check this by clicking on the ‘Network Icon’ which will be shown on the taskbar of your desktop. If there is no internet connection, it will show a red cross sign or ‘x’ mark in place of the WiFi icon. If internet connectivity is not proper, reconnect or reboot the device for an established network connection.

To check the server status, you first open your internet browser and go to DownForEveryoneOrJustMe Type in “https://att.yahoo.com/” in the address bar and press Enter or click on “or just me” The website will then tell you if AT&T Mail is down for everyone or just for you.

If the AT&T mail is down for everyone, wait 24–48 hours until the AOL team resolves this issue. If it’s only down for you, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

Solutions for AT&T Mail Issues

Update Browser 

Sometimes, the browser version and other technical reasons are behind the att not working issue. so, you can fix it out by updating the browser to the latest version.You can update your browser by following the below-mentioned steps:

  • Click the “Three dots” in the upper right corner of your browser window.

It is possible that malware on your computer is interfering with AT&T webmail’s ability to connect to the server. To remove the Malware from your computer follow the step by step guide:

Note: If you have another anti-malware program such as Norton or McAfee installed, click on “Uninstall Program” and follow any prompts that appear to uninstall it and then follow the steps.

1. Click on the Start button on your Windows taskbar and type “Windows Defender” in the search field.

2. Select “Windows Defender” from the list of search results.

3. In Windows Defender, click on “Tools” and then select “Options” from the drop-down menu.

4. Select “Administrator” from the options at the top of the window, under where it says “Choose when to run Windows Defender”.

5. Click on “Save”.

6. In Windows Defender, click on “Scan Now”. 

Recheck Mail Account Settings

Here are the solutions for these kinds of errors:

Problem with Mail Connection: This can happen if you are using a public or shared network. If you are sure that you are not on a public network, then try resetting the network settings. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset Network Settings.

Problem with Mail Server: This can happen if your device is having trouble connecting to the server or it may be that your information is incorrect. In this case, we suggest changing the password in order to resolve this issue.

Retrieving Suspended or Deleted Account

If your account was suspended or deleted from the AT&T side, your only resolution is to contact AT&T to find out why they made that decision. There is no way for us to know or change that decision. You will need to call them at 800-331-0500.

AT&T Mail is Not Working on Mac Mail

Mac Mail is a free application by Apple which allows you to access all your email accounts in one place. It is easy and convenient to use, but at times you may face certain issues such as AT&T Mail not working on Mac Mail.You can follow the steps below to fix the issue:

Check the Server Settings

If you have entered incorrect server settings in Mac Mail, then make sure to check them and edit them if necessary. Enter the correct ports, servers, usernames, and passwords for both incoming and outgoing mail servers as given below:

Incoming server settings:

  • Server Name: imap.mail.att.net
  • Port: 993
  • SSL: Yes
  • Authentication: Password
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your password (same as webmail)

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.att.net

  • Server Name: imap.mail.att.net
  • Port: 993
  • SSL: Yes
  • Authentication: Password
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your password (same as webmail)

If you still face the issue then change the settings from POP to IMAP

IMAP Server Settings

Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.mail.att.net

Port: 993 (SSL) or 143 (TLS)

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.att.net

Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)

Creating a New Mailbox Profile 

Rebuilding a profile sometimes resolves the issue. However, you may lose your email.

To create a new mailbox profile:

  • Launch Mac Mail
  • Select “Window” and click on “Connection Doctor”.
  • The Connection Doctor will open and check your connection to the server and report if there is an issue with your network connection.
  • Select Accounts from the top menu bar.
  • Choose “Add Other Mail Account”… from the Accounts window.
  • Enter your full email address, password, and a name for your account in the Next window. 

Do not select any other options in this window; just click Continue. This will allow the account to be created as IMAP instead of POP3 or Exchange.
