The purpose of having an email account is to have fast and secure communication with one another. If an email account is unable to receive or receive emails, then you need to figure out what’s wrong with the email and try to fix it.

If you are using SBCGlobal email for your day-to-day communication, and if it is not working properly as of late, then there could be several reasons behind a non-functioning SBCGlobal email. Let’s find out those reasons one by one.

If the issue has occurred due to any server related error, then here is what you can do:

  1. Bypass your network and local email client to troubleshoot the server.
  2. Go to your email webpage and enter your email login details.
  3. If you can’t log into your email account, check the password if it is right or not. If you have forgotten the password, then click the ‘Reset Password’ option.
  4. If you can log into your email, then try sending an email to one of your other email accounts.
  5. In case you come across an error message, then there is definitely an error with the SBCGlobal server. You will have to consult SBCGlobal email or ATT login email experts to fix server-related issues.

Problem with the Network:

With a number of connections being established between your computer and the server, the network will go to the local ISP first and then, move to the next one. This is how the connection goes on. To find the fault in the network, you need to go through the below-mentioned steps.

  1. Run a telnet test, which you can run by entering ‘command prompt’ in ‘Run’. You can find ‘Run’ in the ‘Start’ menu of Windows computer or you can press ‘Ctrl + R’ at the same time.
  2. You need to check as to what numbers are entered in port numbers such as the outgoing port (SMTP) will have a ‘25’ value.
  3. This port is blocked by default to prevent spam emails from getting into the system.
  4. For the incoming POP port, you can enter ‘465’, ‘587’ or ‘110’, whereas for the SSL port, enter ‘995’.
  5. If you see ‘220’ on the screen, then the network is perfectly fine. If you see the ‘unable to connect’ or ‘Network timeout’ message on the screen, then something is wrong with the network.
  6. So, if there is a problem, then contact your local network administrator for help.

Port 25

This is a special port, which is kept blocked by the ISPs to ensure protection against spam. If this port is being the focal point of the problem that you’re facing, then do the following:

  1. Use port number ‘587’, but first, make sure that the webmail server supports this port number.
  2. If you’re using your ISP outgoing SMTP server, then you will have to get a username, password, and server name from the internet service provider.

If that is the case, then here is how you can check your local email client:

  1. You need to check SBCGlobal email settings and if those are all OK, then you should remove those settings and re-enter the values.
  2. If the issue persists, then you need to recreate your email account.
  3. Get in touch with SBCGlobal Email-Support in case the issue isn’t getting fixed.

The main motive is to fix the problem, no matter if it is fixed by following the aforementioned steps or by getting in touch with experts.
